FEAR AND ANXIETY STRONGHOLDS
Fear is one of Satan’s greatest weapons against the believer!
Psalms 56: 11 says: “In God I have put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.” We will see how these powerful words can deliver us from Satan’s grasp and heal our diseases.
Have you ever been awakened at night by a pressure on your chest and were unable to move? Would you call this an unwanted visitor? People sometimes call that sleep paralysis. Is this a spiritual thing or a medical situation? Almost all fear is kin to fear of death, fear of people and fear of Satan. Natural fear is given to us by God when our body or soul is threatened. Fear of Satan when he is present is real, but he has no power. That is what we must realize. How does Satan give us fear and anxiety? He lies, he intimidates, he puts fearful thoughts into your mind. He reminds you of past situations that caused you fear.
Satan is roaring, going about intimidating us making us believe he can devour us. God has given us love, which entails a confidence that his word is true, and he will protect us; plus, we have the power over the enemy and a sound mind to think. ( Luke 10:17)
The spirit of fear hosts a family of demons such as shame, control, worry, anxiety, phobias, emotions that shut down, false illnesses, double binds, and doubleminded. These are generational and are passed down for generation after generation.
Some friends of Fear are heaviness, harassment, dread, bewilderment, mental torment, over-sensitivity, paranoia and superstition. Want to see these spirits leave you alone? As a Christian we can resist fear and send these fear spirits away.
What are you afraid of? Spiders, snakes, bees? People, authority, men, women, clowns, bats? Often when we experience trauma from an event, we have post- traumatic stress disorder. We have flash backs, and triggers that cause us to over -react in present day situations. “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.” ( 2 Timothy 1 :7.) If we are in fear, we have not been made perfect in love. In other words, our fear prevents us from receiving His love. In fear we are telling Him that we do not trust him. Jesus came to set the captives free. If there is anything in your life that is controlling you in fear that does not make sense in the present, there probably is a root where the spirit of fear came in and tries to control you, even to this day. God wants to set you free.
A girl was abused as a child. She turns 30 and all of a sudden is having problems in her life. Flashbacks, dreams etc. She has been struggling with IBS and does not know why. Fear is driving her bus. She is hyper -religious, controlled by fear of failing, judgmental of others, suspicious of others and says things to others that causes them to distance from her. She can’t get along with her co-workers, feels isolated and judged. She is unable to cope well. She comes to me for prayer ministry. We have to go back to her family background to find that there is generational sin in her family line, controlling parents, judgmental church as a child and was made to take care of everybody in the family as she was the oldest of 5. Mom and Dad had other things to do. She was in charge at a young age. If she didn’t do everything as well as Mom or Dad, she was made to feel incapable, and a burden, never good enough. She judged others the way she was judged and the way her church judged everyone on the outside. She couldn’t get free by going to church, praying every day and reading her Bible.
She was set free by forgiving her Mom and Dad for all the areas that she judged them, by repenting of her judgments and rebellion against them. She also broke off the lies she believed about herself, and the vows she made to protect herself. She forgave her abuser and herself for the abuse and her sinful responses to the abuse. We broke the soul tie that was attached to her through the ungodly relationship of abuse (which was not her fault) and in any way she judged her abuser, or retaliated sinfully, she needed to repent. We sent away every spirit that was attached to these abuses, judgments, and fears. She still however had triggers and dreams. We kept working at it until the last unforgiveness towards her mother was finally confessed and forgiven. Then we disconnected the five senses and spoke healing over her immune system, lymphatic, muscular and nervous system. All of her rebellion, unbelief and idolatry needed to be brought to the cross.
So perhaps your situation is not as complex as hers. Perhaps it is a choice to forgive those who caused you to fear, including yourself. Repent for not believing God will take care of you and for trusting in something or someone other than God, such as yourself and your ability to take care of yourself. God’s word says.” You are not your own, you have been bought with a price.” (1 Corinthians 6:20a.) Without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6) Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Some common fears: Circle the ones that apply.
Death, never loving or being loved, Satan, embarrassment, failure, being victimized, rejection by people, marriage, disapproval, divorce, becoming a homosexual, going crazy, financial problems, pain/illness, never getting married, the future, death of a loved one, confrontation, being a hopeless case, certain people, losing my salvation, not being loved by God, committing the unpardonable sin.
Father, I ask you forgive me for believing the lies of the enemy. I ask you to forgive me for giving into fear and allowing it to control my life. I renounce any spirit of fear operating in my life and ask you to reveal any and all controlling fears and the lies behind them. Instead give me the mind of Christ. Help me to walk by faith.
In Jesus name I refuse to fear, but put on power, love and a sound mind instead.
I now repent for all my fears, renounce them and declare they have no more power over my life. I choose to forgive myself for walking in fear and in any way that I have judged God, I repent.
Anxiety
Anxiety is caused by: not being able to call the shots in life or be in control. You may feel helpless to affect change, and past trauma is unresolved. It doesn’t have an object like fear.
People are uncertain about an outcome or don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow.
No one is able to know about what will happen tomorrow. No one can control even the weather, let alone a person. Anxiety can only be rid of if we release the concerns of the day to the Lord. Knowing the word of God gives us power. Believing the word of God gives us peace. The root word for anxiety is double mindedness. The first decision to rid ourselves of anxiety is to pray. ( Philippians 4:6 ) “Be anxious for nothing, but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Let us ask the Lord where in your life you felt like life was out of control and you felt afraid or shamed and decided to take control? What happened? What did you decide? What did you believe? How did it make you feel?
Pray: Father in heaven, I am your child purchased by the precious blood of Jesus. I am completely dependent upon you and I need you. Without Jesus I can do nothing, but with you I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. You know my thoughts and the intentions of y heart. I am anxious, I am double -minded and I need your peace to guide my heart and mind. I humble myself before you and choose to trust you to lift me up at the right time in the right way in any way you choose. I trust you to meet all of my needs, guide me into all truth and fulfill my calling to live a responsible life by faith in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Bring resolution of any personal or spiritual issues- Repent, change your mind, chose not to worry, take control of your thoughts. Get your head in the game.” Deceiving spirits will deceive many in the last days and will abandon their faith.“(1 Timothy 4:1) We must resist the devil and wear the armor of God. If you listen to the deceiving spirit you will be a double-minded person.
State the Problem-When people are anxious, they can’t see the forest from the trees. Write down what the problem is. Is it a matter of eternity? Don’t allow the enemy to terrorize you with fleeting thoughts of what if’s. These thoughts are often more detrimental than the negative consequences you worried about.
Divide the facts from the assumptions-One can become fearful of the facts but not anxious. When we don’t know what is going to happen, we make up all types of scenarios in out minds. What if statements. One writer said that 90% of all the things we worry about never happen.
Determine what is fact and what you have the right to control. We need to be responsible for what we are responsible for. Don’t cast your responsibility onto Jesus. But do cast your anxiety upon Him, because HIS INTEGRITY IS AT STAKE IN MEETING YOUR NEEDS IF YOU ARE LIVING A RESPONSIBLE AND RIGHTEOUS LIFE. You are responsible for the things you have the ability and right to control.
List everything that is your responsibility and commit yourself to do it. Is 32:17
Release the rest to God. Phil 4:6-8

Please help us to be single minded and do what we should do, and release to you everything that is none of our business.
I forgive myself for the negative affects of walking in anxiety. I forgive you God, wherever I have blamed you.
I choose now to resist anxiety and walk in peace, thinking of those things that are true, lovely and of good report. I release all anxieties and fears now to you Jesus. Heal my heart and tell me the truth. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
